Soinotiin
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Soinotiin iOS application, this website, and related documentation (together, the “Service”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Soinotiin is a companion app for compatible smart sand painting machines. It has no registration, no login, and no user account. It connects to a nearby machine over Bluetooth only, lets you choose patterns, control playback, and adjust the machine’s lights. Pattern images and related catalog information are downloaded from the cloud over the internet. The internet is not used to send drawing commands to the machine or to create a user identity. The app does not replace the machine’s hardware safety features. You are responsible for placing and supervising the machine according to its own manual.
2. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store Terms. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app except as permitted by law.
3. Your responsibilities
- Use the app only with machines you are allowed to control.
- Keep people, pets, and objects clear of moving parts while a drawing runs.
- Do not use the Service to send commands intended to damage a device or evade safety limits.
- Keep your iPhone and machine firmware reasonably up to date.
4. Content you create
Pattern artwork, thumbnails, and catalog copy shown in the app are licensed to you only for use with the Service. We may update or remove cloud content at any time. Settings you store remain on your iPhone. We do not claim ownership of your saved preferences.
5. Third-party hardware
Sand painting machines are made by hardware manufacturers. Compatibility can change after a firmware update. We are not the manufacturer of every supported table and are not responsible for defects in third-party hardware.
6. Disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Drawing quality depends on sand condition, machine calibration, and the pattern you choose.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or interrupted drawings. Our total liability for any claim about the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim (or zero if the app was free).
8. App Store
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Soinotiin, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. If the app fails to meet a warranty that cannot be disclaimed, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the app purchase price. Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce it.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms by posting a new date on this page. We may stop offering the app or a feature. You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless a mandatory consumer law in your place of residence says otherwise. Courts in California will have jurisdiction, except where the law requires courts where you live.
